You belong in the conversation

Care that starts with how you communicate.

Even if you do not use Auslan, you are welcome!

Pathway 01

I’m Deaf and use Auslan

Talk about your day, your routines and your care directly in Auslan.

You should be part of every conversation about your care. Our approach puts direct communication in Auslan at the centre, from the first introduction to everyday support.

Pathway 02

I’m hearing and use Auslan

Care that makes room for your language, family and community.

You may be a CODA, a family member or someone whose everyday language is Auslan. Tell us what works for you. Hearing people who use Auslan are welcome here too.

Pathway 03

I’m Deaf and don’t use Auslan

Your communication preferences matter. We start by listening to you.

You do not need to use Auslan to feel at home here. Tell us if you prefer written text, clear face-to-face communication or another approach. Deaf-cultural understanding belongs in your care.

Asking for someone else?

Family members, friends and carers can help with an enquiry. Involve the person who will receive care and ask how they would like us to communicate with them.
